Purus, the leading Swedish manufacturer of drainage and plumbing products, has launched into the UK market to meet the expanding demand for wet rooms and walk in showers.
Purus wet room drains are available in a variety of horizontal and square formats to meet most wet room requirements. The surface strainer comes in six different horizontal lengths, from 300mm to one metre, and seven different stylish designs. In addition a square strainer also is available in sizes from 155mm to 200mm. All the drains in the range can remove up to 1.2 litres of water per second.
The company is the only manufacturer to offer a tiled drainage trap which provides an uninterrupted tile design across the wet room floor in the customer’s preferred tiling design.
Purus floor drains have been designed to meet the exacting requirements for design, functionality and safety and comply with the British Board of Agrément standards.
They have been designed to be shallow, which makes them ideal for cramped or restricted areas where space can be a problem. The drains can be fitted in concrete floors and under suspended wood floors making them ideal for upper floors of a property.
Purus drains also contain an odour trap as standard. This means that bad air cannot come through the drain even if it is dry. This feature also ensures that water will not rise up into the room if the waste pipe becomes blocked.
Purus drains can be adjusted in height giving greater flexibility for a range of tiles. The drains are also designed to be fitted in conjunction with a waterproof membrane and can as well be used for vinyl flooring. Altogether Purus wet room drains offer the broadest range of technical solutions.
Peter Bradbourne, sales and marketing director Purus UK, says: “Walk in showers and wet rooms add value to a property because of their spa like appearance and luxurious use of space. They also make the cleaning process easier and can be cost effective as you do not need to fit a shower tray or waterproof screen. We predict a rising demand in the UK market.”
